Your Director
Dr. Carl B. Davis has taught for more than 15 years and has been director of Decatur High School Choruses for more than 10 years.
Born in Decatur and educated in Decatur City and Limestone County Schools, he transferred to the University of Mississippi from Calhoun Community College in the fall of 1985. He completed the Bachelor of Music in December 1987. He entered Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, and earned a Master of Music in December 1988. Then, he reentered the University of Mississippi in January 1989 and completed all course work for a doctoral degree in music the summer of 1991.
After his completing his doctoral degree, he accepted employment in Natchez Public Schools and Jefferson County Schools from 1991 - 1996, then accepted employment with Decatur City Schools in the summer of 1996.
In the spring of 1999, Mr. Davis completed his dissertation and received the Doctor of Arts degree in Music Education and Vocal Pedagogy. He was chosen as Decatur High School and Decatur City Schools Teacher of the year for 2000.
